Ontario Mining Cup : ウィキペディア英語版 | Ontario Mining Cup
The annual Ontario Mining Cup is a mining industry Hockey tournament held each spring in Timmins, Ontario to determine the top mining industry team in the province. The event is currently hosted by the Porcupine Branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). ==History== The Ontario Mining Cup was founded in 2013 by mining engineer and politician Steve Black. The tournament is a round robin competition followed by a single elimination playoff that has determined the mining industry champion since the inaugural 2014 Ontario Mining Cup Hockey Tournament. The tournament features 16 teams representing a variety of mining sector organizations (mine operators, suppliers, contractors, universities and colleges). Entry is determined on a first come, first served basis. The winners of the previous Ontario Mining Cup Hockey Tournament receive automatic entry the following year.
